Hillmore House

Centrally located on High Street a couple of minutes walk from the delightful harbour and close to Fleming Square the old cobbled market square of Maryport, Hillmore House has been tastefully furnished in keeping with the age of the property and yet equipped with every modern amenity to make your stay as comfortable as possible.




Built around 1780 this old sea captain's cottage is deceptively spacious with four double bedrooms, lounge, sitting room, dining room and dining kitchen.

The rear garden is pleasantly planted and provides seating areas to fully appreciate the views.

 The sitting room has access to a balcony with amazing views of the harbour and beyond that across the Solway Firth to the hills of Scotland. 

Summer sunsets are a particular delight as the harbour entrance frames the setting sun.






Lounge

The lounge is equipped with an open fire place, dimmable lighting, large screen Smart TV , DVD/CD player with Home cinema speaker system,  and high speed (20Mb/s) wireless internet access, a collection of DVD's is available for your use.

Sitting Room

French windows open out onto the balcony with patio set to take advantage of the stupendous sea and harbour views

This room has been retained as a quiet area to catch up on reading that book or just take in those views.


Kitchen

Spacious, modern kitchen with dining area and equipped with every modern convenience including; large fridge freezer, double oven and grill, 5 burner hob, integrated dishwasher, automatic washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave oven. The double french windows open onto a sheltered outdoor patio area with table and chairs and access to the rear garden.







Dining Room

For a more comfortable dining experience this room has a 6 seater dining table, dimmable lighting and an open fireplace. The double french windows look out onto the rear patio.


Bathroom

The large bathroom has a separate shower cubicle and a large bath, recently refurbished in a more traditional manner the roll top bath, exposed floor boards and the fireplace are a real feature.




Main front bedroom

This very large double bedroom is fully furnished with a dark wood bedroom suite and recalls the Georgian heritage of the property with the original floorboards exposed and stained ceiling rose and large bay window. A fireplace has been installed to provide a focal point.






Rear bedroom

This second bedroom enjoys the extensive views over the harbour and across the Solway Firth to the Scottish hills. Furnished with a high quality bedroom suite including a king size sleigh bed. 









Upper front bedroom

This large attic bedroom provides an unusual space with sloping ceilings, the original fireplace provides a focal point and the room has a king size sleigh bed.





2nd Bathroom and toilet.

There is a another shower room on the second floor and toilet and washbasin on the first landing.










Garden and outside

The private rear garden has two seating areas and is pleasantly planted with raised beds and shrubs, it provides a perfect spot for an early evening drink while watching the trawlers return or taking in the views.
